"Our Library Has 'Snow' Many Great Books!" Bulletin Board Idea

By Kayla • April 3, 2018

Looking to update your classroom library or school media center for winter? Check out this fun display submitted by Erica, parent volunteer at the Miami Lakes K-8 Center and creator of DigiGirl Paper Crafts. The play on words is super cute and the book 'characters' playing in the snow are adorable!

Our Library Has 'Snow' Many Great Books!

  • Background: Cover the entire board with bright blue bulletin board paper. Use white bulletin board paper to create a 'snowscape' along the bottom half of the board.
  • Title: "Our Library Has 'Snow' Many Great Books!"
  • Border: Winter themed border or glitter garland for a festive three-dimensional look!
  • Decoration: 1) The Characters. All of the elements of the bulletin board were custom made with paper. Freehand the elements onto construction paper or scraps of background paper, or find clip art that can be enlarged and traced using your classroom projector system. Searching for Frosty the Snowman clip art will help with the snowman shape and image from Clipart Panda will help with the book characters. Once the characters are created, once again, use paper to add winter clothing as well as winter items (i.e. skis, sleds, etc.) to the scene. 2) The Snowflakes. Purchase snowflake accents, cut snowflakes using a school/personal cutting machine, or simply use paper and scissors to create the elements! [NOTE: This is something you could have your kiddos help you with!]
