Batty About Verbs! - Halloween Bulletin Board Idea
By Kayla • April 3, 2018
We love dual-purpose boards and, when we stumbled across this fun board created by Katie over at Teacher to the Core, thought we'd pass it along in the event that it will spark your own creativity!

Knowing that her first graders needed more practice with verbs, Katie decided to couple her Halloween decor with a fun language arts lesson. After reading several nonfiction books about bats, she and her firsties worked together to create a list of bat action words - swoop, fly, hunt, dive, etc. These words were then transferred onto cute bat cutouts {which she provides for FREE at her blog!} and displayed on the classroom bulletin board!
Whatever you're 'batty' about these days - subtraction, parts of speech, student behavior - you can use Katie's inspiring design to create a fun board of your own! Of course, if you can't come up with any ideas, you can simply add your students' names to the bat cutouts - "Batty About The Students Of Room 204!"
Batty About Verbs!

- Decoration: Create large moon and star cutouts from yellow bulletin board paper and cloud cutouts from gray bulletin board paper, arranging the cutouts around the board. Add your students' bats to the 'nightscape' and you have a festive decoration for Halloween!
