Our friend Barbara Gruener, counselor and character coach, over at The Corner On Character has sent us another great motivational bulletin board idea. Barbara wanted to create a visual reminder that kindness knows no calendar using, well, a wall-sized calendar! While it's perfect for any time of year, the beginning of the new year is a great time to remind students that kindness matters every single day!

Kindness Matters!

  • Background: Light brown or tan bulletin board paper.
  • Title: Kindness Matters, 24-7, 365, using any style or color of letters.
  • Border: None needed, but you can use any color you like. We like the "Helping Hands" border to help get the message across!
  • Decoration: By using strips of different colored construction paper, create the grid pattern to emulate the look of a calendar. Next, add each kindness act on each white square of paper for each day of the week. You can use Barbara's ideas or create your own.
