New Years Reflection Bulletin Board Idea

While the new year offers a chance to look to and make plans/goals for the future, you can't look forward without first looking back and reflecting on how the past year has brought you to this point. A reflection bulletin board is a great way to get your kiddos to share some of their personal "magical moments" from the past year as well as engage them in the process of setting new goals for what they'd like to accomplish in the coming year!

Magical Moments of 2013!

  • Background: Light blue bulletin board paper.
  • Title: "Magial Moments of 2013!"
  • Border: Star pattern trimmer.
  • Decoration: 1) The Top Hat & Wand. Draw or trace a large top hat shape onto black bulletin board paper. Cut out the shape, using purple construction paper (or the color of your choice!) to create the "silk lining" on the inside of the hat and the outside "band". For the wand, simply cut a long thin strip of black construction paper, adding a short strip of white construction paper to both ends. 2) The Stars. Provide each of your students with a yellow star cutout and invite them to write on it one of the milestones they reached in 2013, their favorite memory from 2013, etc.
