We 'Arrrgh' Ready For Fourth Grade! - End of the Year Bulletin Board

By Kayla • April 3, 2018

We recently discovered the free Make Me Pirate app for apple/android and thought, if you have access to a tablet or even a phone, it would make for a fun activity/bulletin board for the end of the year!

Make Me Pirate

Not only is the app free, it's also super simple to use! Have students take a picture with the tablet or phone (preferably against a white/plain backdrop), make sure the app has properly identified the location of their eyes/mouth, then browse the tabs to find the perfect hat, eye patch, and other pirate accessories!

Here are close-ups of the examples above...

[NOTE: We would trim off the iPad bar at the top when using!]

We 'Arrrgh' Ready For Fourth Grade!

  • Background: Aqua bulletin board paper.
  • Title: "We 'Arrrgh' Ready For Fourth Grade!"
  • Border: Create a layered look with a gold trimmer and a black/white trimmer.
  • Decoration: Fill the board with your kiddos' photos, using gold coin and gem cutouts to add names. In the empty space, add a pirate ship, a mock pirate map, an island, or another pirate themed element. The mock-up above features Carson Dellosa's pirates bulletin board set.
