Fall Reading Bulletin Board Idea

This bulletin board display created by one of our talented Twitter followers does double duty, providing a festive decoration for the season as well as offering a fun way to get your kiddos excited about the books you'll be reading/your classroom reading program!

Rake In A Good Book!

  • Background: Cover the top two-thirds with blue bulletin board paper and the bottom third with green bulletin board paper.
  • Title: "Rake In A Good Book!"
  • Border: Complimentary solid/patterned trimmer.
  • Decoration: 1) The Tree. Scrunch and twist strips of brown bulletin board paper, fashioning a tree trunk and branches to staple onto the bulletin board. 2) The Leaves. Print and cut leaf shapes from fall colored construction paper (i.e. brown, red, orange, and yellow), purchase leaf cutouts, or use a personal/die cutting machine to create the accents. Arrange the leaf shapes on the tree branches and around the board. 3) The Fall Accents. If you don't feel comfortable drawing the rake and pumpkin shapes yourself, we suggest finding clip art online that can be enlarged and traced onto background paper using your classroom projector system.
