iKnow: Test Taking Strategies
By Kayla • April 3, 2018
Spring is testing season and you're likely not only reviewing important concepts and material your students will encounter on the test, but common test taking strategies and tips for giving their best performance as well. With all the information, we're sure it's easy for your students to get overwhelmed and that's why we like this testing strategy display from Katy Reeves. Modeled after popular Apple products, your students are sure to recognize and connect with the format and, adding visual cues to each strategy (making them resemble 'apps'), will help them to internalize, remember, and hopefully put into practice the tips that will help them perform their best on the test!
iKnow: Test Taking Strategies
- Background: Cut a large rectangle with rounded corners from black bulletin board paper.
- Title: "iKnow: Test Taking Strategies"
- Border: None needed.
- Decoration: 1) The iPad/iPod. Use white chalk or a white crayon to add detailing to the black background - the "Home" button at the bottom and the signal strength indicator, battery indicator, and earpiece at the top. 2) The 'Apps'. Cut medium-sized squares with rounded corners from white construction paper. Print a test taking tip onto the bottom of each; saving room for a complimentary image above it - i.e. "Good night's sleep" is paired with a pillow. Draw the images or find, print, and paste clip art images that go with each 'app'.
