"Bee" Ready For Summer! - Colorful Summer Bulletin Board Idea
By Kayla • April 3, 2018
One of our super crafty Facebook Fans, Suellen Riggs Stanley, submitted this fabulous summer/end-of-the-year bulletin board and we think it's superb! The three-dimensional elements are fabulous and, while it was originally created as a health and safety bulletin board for May/June, we're certain it can be tweaked to fit your needs!
Here's what Suelle had to say about creating the board...
"The 'bees' are foam or styrofoam balls, cut in half and painted. Their wings are long ovals of cellophane pinched together in the middle, secured with black pipe cleaner, and stuck into the bee's back. To complete the bees, I added a black pipe cleaner 'stinger' and googly eyes. The 'hive' is a cheap paper lantern, wrapped in gauzy cloth (I used 6" wide tulle) secured with glue gun, and decorated with pipe cleaner bees."
Cover the entire bulletin board with sky blue bulletin board paper - adding a construction paper and streamer sun, 'grass' made from fringed green tissue paper, paper flower cutouts with green pipe cleaner stems, and other summer bug/flower decorations!
Isn't this design fabulous?! We just adore it and think it would make a great addition to any early learning space!
