"Success? There's An App for That!" Back To School Bulletin Board Idea

By Kayla • April 3, 2018

Today's kids are super tech-savvy, making technology themed bulletin boards a great way to grab your students' attention. Submitted by a talented reader to one of our contests, this bulletin board features a fantastic back-to-school message for students of any age;

Success is never an accident. It is a choice!

Pulling in the tech-theme, the designer encourages students to "APP"ly themselves and provides tangible ways that students choose success.

  • Ask questions.
  • Take good notes.
  • Stay focused.
  • Collaborate.
  • Study.
  • Etcetera!!

Success? There's An App for That! "APP"ly Yourself!

  • Background: Cover half the board with blue bulletin board paper and the other half with red bulletin board paper. You can, of course, choose any color paper.
  • Title: "Success? There's An APP for That! "APP"ly Yourself!"
  • Border: Complimentary colored/patterned trimmer.
  • Decoration: 1) The iPhone. Cut large rounded rectangle from black bulletin board paper. To create the apps, we suggest doing a simple search for "iPhone app icons" to find images that can be enlarged, printed onto card stock, and attached to the phone cutout. A piece of white chalk can be used to add the 'home button' and speaker details, and once you're happy with the 'screen' layout, laminating the cutout will give the screen a shiny, more authentic look! 2) The Tools for Success. The original designer simply used word processing software to print simple signs for the board. You might also consider using colorful bulletin board accents with a black permanent marker for more pizzazz, or perhaps spicing up your computer generated signs with clip art, borders, etc.

While your students likely know what it takes to succeed, reminders never hurt!
