Veteran's Day, observed on November 12th this year, is right around the corner! We were searching for patriotic designs/craftivities to get your students into the spirit of the holiday and stumbled across this cute bulletin board created by Michaele, kindergarten teacher and blogger at Kindergarten's 3 R's. We love that the design mixes elements for both Thanksgiving and Veteran's Day - because we ARE thankful for the many brave men and women who defend and protect our nation, past and present!
We Give Veterans Our Heart
Background: Dark blue bulletin board paper.
Title: "Veterans Gave Us Our Freedom - We Give Veterans Our Hearts!"
Border: Patriotic themed trimmer.
Decoration:1) The Turkey. Freehand a turkey shape onto brown bulletin board paper, find a black and white clip art image to enlarge and trace onto white bulletin board paper {to be painted or colored in}, or purchase a turkey bulletin board accent. Add patriotic hand print cutouts, stars, and/or other accents cut from red, white, and blue construction paper - using them to create the feathers on the turkey cutout.

2) The Heart Craftivities. Have your students write notes of thanks to and for our veterans, decorating their papers with a heart frame and patriotic stars. Add these writing projects to the bulletin board.
