Spring Felt Story Board

Add a little excitement to story time by creating your very own felt board pieces featuring all things Spring: flowers, sun, clouds, trees, beautiful green grass and cute little birds and butterflies. What you will need to begin creating:

  • Felt in assorted colors
  • Flannel board
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue

If you're talented when it comes to crafts, you can free hand cutting the Springtime shapes from felt. If you're anything like me...you can always find clipart online to use for tracing! :) Use multiple colors to add interest to the flowers and animals (such as different colors for the bird's wings and the butterfly's spots). You could also create little rain drops and lightning bolts to start a weather-themed story. Everyone knows April Showers bring May Flowers!

With your Springtime creations complete, it's time to start telling stories! Use the felt story board creations to go along with your favorite Spring children's book (to add visual interest as you read). Or, use the pieces to allow your kiddos to create and tell their very own stories!
