Did you know that June 29th is International Mud Day?! Who would have thought! Apparently, "International Mud Day is children and early childhood professionals all over the world celebrating nature, outdoors, and mess by getting really muddy". [Seriously, I wish I would have known about this earlier ~ I feel like I've been missing out all these years! Sanctioned mud play?! AWESOME!]

Jillian over at A Mom With A Lesson Plan put together some super fun mud activities in honor of the occasion and we thought we'd pass them along, just in case! Along with mud painting and just plain playing in the mud, Jillian and her kiddos explore some 'dirt' themed literature, practiced measuring, observed various mud solutions, and had a ball of a time enjoying the outdoors!

Be sure to visit A Mom With A Lesson Plan for the full lesson details and get your kiddos together {along with your 'brave hat' because playing in the mud is not for the faint-of-heart} for some fun - and learning - with nature!
