"Let's Read A Latte" Bulletin Board Idea

Coffee-Themed Reading Bulletin Board
Contest Submission

Encourage your kiddos to read with a clever bulletin board! Perfect for a library or reading center, we love this board's play on the word 'latte' and it's coffee theme. A little fun for the teacher while inspiring the students. It was submitted for a bulletin board contest last year and is a win-win!

Let's Read A Latte

  • Background: Red bulletin board paper
  • Title: "Let's Read A Latte" (create your own with construction paper to match the example, or use a set of ready letters)
  • Border: A wood design border or a complimentary patterned trimmer
  • Decoration: 1) Books - Use actual book jackets or color copies. 2) Coffee Cups - Create the center "to-go" cup using white bulletin board paper and the collar using purple paper. Use green and pink bulletin board paper to create each mug (be sure not to attach the top of each cup to the board so you can slide the books behind it). Find clip-art images online and use your classroom projector to trace the images onto the paper. 3) "B" Reading Inspiration - Use assorted color construction paper for the background of each statement and orange to surround the letter 'B', also cut from construction paper. Write a motivational word on each (something the students can be or gain while reading - courageous, adventurous, inspired, brave, etc).

Pretty simple to set up, but sure packs a cute caffeinated punch!
