Bulletin Board Idea - Welcome to Our Classroom
Contest Submission

Create a welcoming display for your classroom using a children's literature favorite! What child doesn't have memories of reading Chicka Chicka Boom Boom? That's one of the reasons we love this idea that was submitted for a bulletin board contest! It's also super simple to set-up.

"Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" Welcome to Our Classroom

  • Background: Light green bulletin board paper
  • Title: "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" Welcome to Our Classroom
  • Border: Palm tree leaves border
  • Decoration: 1) Tree - Create the palm tree leaves from dark green bulletin board paper and the trunk from brown paper. If you're not great at free-hand, locate an online clip-art you could use with your classroom projector to trace onto the paper. 2) Coconuts - create coconuts by cutting small circles from brown and light brown bulletin board paper.

Additional Suggestions: If you'd like to create a display that matches the cover of the book, try using a pink border with polka dots and purple and teal letters instead!
