We found this fantastic rainbow math activity at Teaching Heart and thought it would be perfect for a St. Patrick's Day, Find-a-Rainbow Day {in April!}, weather, or 'any time' lesson! As they complete the exercise, students practice making predictions, gathering data, and drawing conclusions. Here's what you'll need...

  • Recording sheet {found at Teaching Heart}
  • Colored dice {place colored stickers on regular game dice or *create your own}
  • Crayons

*We downloaded a die template from SparkleBox and used word processing software to add colors! {See below}

As they roll the die, students record the results until one column has been completely filled. This color is the 'winner' of the rainbow race and students can then use their collected data to answer the questions on the worksheet!

Be sure to visit Teaching Heart for the recording sheet and lots of other great rainbow activities!
