Kelly over at Kelly's Kindergarten came up with a fun winter vocabulary game that your kiddos are sure to love! Simply download her printable game pieces or make your own. Here's how it works...

Creating Your Own Game

Brainstorm a list of vocabulary/focus words, finding clip art images or pictures of the words and pasting them onto snowflake cutouts. We suggest laminating the snowflakes to reduce wear and tear. Next, script the various words onto index cards and laminate {optional}.

To play, place the word cards face down in the middle of the table, and pass out the snowflakes so that each player has the same number. Invite students to place their snowflake pieces face up in front of them. Have the first player pick up a word card from the middle of the table and read the word for their classmates. The player with the matching snowflake piece gets to turn their piece over {or place it in the "discard" pile}. Students take turns reading word cards until one player has turned all of their snowflakes over {or has discarded them all}.

Be sure to head on over to Kelly's Kindergarten for this activity - and the free printable that goes with it!
