September 26th is Johnny Appleseed Day and, to celebrate the infamous journey of John Chapman, we found a slew of fantastic craftivities created by Teri of A Cupcake for the Teacher! With several writing prompts, printable surveys and graphic organizer, a craft idea, and more - we know you'll find the perfect exercise(s) to complete with your kinders!

If I had a basket of apples...

Our favorite of Teri's activities is this craft/writing prompt. Your students will have the opportunity to practice their handwriting skills as well as tap into their creativity to decide what they would do with a basket of apples...

  • Share them with friends and family
  • Save the seeds to plant apple trees
  • Make sweets - pie, apple fritters, apple dumplings, applesauce, apple cider, etc.

The best part is Teri provides the template for this craft and the printable for the writing prompt - along with her other awesome exercises - in her Johnny Appleseed {Craftivities} Unit on Teachers Pay Teachers. Be sure to visit A Cupcake for the Teacher for the details!
