Johnny Appleseed Day - Books for Circle Time!

By Kayla • April 3, 2018

Children's Books About Apples and Reading Preschool Lesson PlanIf you're celebrating Johnny Appleseed Day {September 26th}, we've found some really great sources where you can find suggestions for picture books to check out with your kiddos! All with an apple theme, while there's sure to be some overlap, we know this is a great starting point for compiling your own list to check out!

  • The Usual Mayham. Eddie, mother of three, shares nine books she and her kiddos have enjoyed reading together this fall.
  • Listmania!: Children's Apple Books. A first grade teacher shares sixteen of her classroom favorites!
  • Naturally Educational. Candace, children's writer and educational consultant, offers eight picture book recommendations, complete with short descriptions, that would work great in the classroom.
  • Hilltown Families. Sixteen apple books in all, Cheli writes a short review of each and sorts the selections into categories by topic - i.e. apple life cycle, apple picking, apple legend, etc.

Again, while there is sure to be some overlap between the lists, we know you'll find some great stories to compliment your Johnny Appleseed Day lesson plans!
