Words come to life with poetry and I love to see how each teacher incorporates poetry differently in the classroom. Here's a fabulous idea from Stephanie of Aloha Kindergarten - create an interactive poetry journal with new printables/handouts for each month!

While we know January is almost over, we're showcasing her handouts for this month so you can get an idea of how the journal works! As a practice, Stephanie introduces one poem each week (be sure to visit her full post to see how she incorporates the poem each day of the week) and, along with the other activities presented, her kiddos have a chance to illustrate the focus poem in their journals.

We absolutely love that by the end of the year, students will have compiled a fabulous poetry "book" that can be used beyond the classroom!

For the free journal page printables and some great advice on incorporating a poetry journal in the classroom, be sure to visit Aloha Kindergarten!
