Here's a fun first week of school activity from Little Giraffes Teaching Ideas {part of the A to Z Teacher Stuff network of sites}. It's a cute way to get a little more information about your kiddos and introduce early math skills. The best part is the activity printables are offered for FREE so all you have to do is download, print, and set up! Designed for use with a pocket chart, the download includes - a graph title, transportation cards, and student recording sheets. Once each student has had a chance to contribute to the graph and record the results on their worksheet, you can analyze the results together, determining which mode of transportation is used most, least, etc.

For the lesson details and printables, be sure to visit Little Giraffes Teaching Ideas!
