Literacy Kindergarten Lesson Plan

We found this great literacy center idea at Kids Count 1234, a site created by educational consultant, Shari Sloane.

Here's what you'll need...

  • Gum ball machine {or a similar container}
  • Glass gems
  • Mod Podge
  • Word labels
  • Gum ball recording sheet {available for FREE at Kids Count 1234!}

The process - use the Mod Podge to attach the word labels to the glass gems then have students take turns picking out a "gum ball", identifying the word, and copying it onto their recording sheet. This is a fun and unique way to get your kiddos exposure to new vocabulary/high frequency words and provide them with handwriting/printing practice!

Be sure to head on over to Shari's site for this and other great literacy center ideas!
