We love these futuristic sculptures from Michelle Made Me! They're colorful, fit fantastically with the 'genre', promote fine motor and creativity, and are just plain cool! So what do you need in your arsenal of craft supplies to create one of these awesome structures?

From the recycling bin or kitchen...

  • Cereal boxes
  • Egg carton
  • Plastic containers {yogurt, cottage cheese, sour cream, butter, etc.}
  • Paper grocery bags
  • Foam meat trays
  • Wooden skewers {or plastic drinking straws spray painted silver}
From the craft cupboard...
This craft is a great way to show your kiddos how normal household items can be recycled into something fun and it's also a fantastic way to inspire their creativity! You might consider setting up a space in your play/pretend corner to house these futuristic crafts for extra 'exploration' throughout the year - just add some plasticine aliens {shown below} like these from Filth Wizardry, or pom pom aliens {also shown below} like these from Free Kids Crafts, and you're set!
