If you're looking for a cutesy holiday literacy center, here's a great idea from Kathleen of Growing Kinders. Designed for use with a pocket chart {but can certainly be adapted}, students are invited to count the number of buttons on each gingerbread man cutout, match it to the appropriate line on the center chart, and fill in the accompanying worksheet.

Through the exercise, your kiddos will...
  • Review the sight word, "see"
  • Review number words one through ten
  • Practice handwriting skills

The best part, Kathleen offers free downloads of both the recording sheet and center chart sentences at her blog - so be sure to visit Growing Kinders for this, and lots of other great activity ideas!
