Counting with Recycled/Natural Materials
By Kayla • April 3, 2018
In the wake of Earth Day we thought it might be nice to continue the recycling theme. We found this great counting activity over at Montessori On A Budget and loved that it incorporated both recycled and natural materials! Simple to put together, the activity board is created from recycled cardboard and labeled paper rolls, and the counting manipulatives are sticks collected from the yard! To complete the exercise, invite your kiddos to identify the numeral on each paper roll and count out the correct number of sticks to place inside.
Stocking your classroom - whether it be art materials, math manipulatives, etc. - doesn't have to be expensive if you can find ways to recycle and repurpose!
