Alphabet Sequencing Activity (with Variations)
By Kayla • April 3, 2018
Want to assess your new kindergartners' command of the alphabet? Here's a fun center activity, with a cute/colorful ruler back-to-school theme, that invites your students to identify the letters on the card, fill in the missing letter, and print the full sequence on their recording sheet.
Activity Variation
If you want to get more mileage out of the activity, you might consider simply creating cards with single upper case letters on them that can be used with various recording sheets. For example;
- Can you write the letter that comes after?
- Can you write the letter that comes before?
- Can you write the lower case letter?
- Etcetera!
It's simple to create your own activity; all you need is word processing software. The fun clip art, borders, and backgrounds make the activity look appealing, but they're not needed. And, of course, you can add whatever images you want in order to fit your classroom theme.
