This Monday, Veterans Day, offers a great opportunity to set an example for your preschoolers as you take time out of your day to honor the men and women who have given of their time and put their lives on the line to protect and defend our country. Rebecca over at Kids Activities Blog put together a great list of activities to help your kiddos understand the importance of showing their appreciation and respect for all those who have served.

Many schools arrange an assembly to recognize and celebrate the veterans in the community, but we love Rebecca's suggestion to take your Veterans day plans a step further - perhaps by inviting a veteran to come to your classroom for a question and answer session or researching the monuments and museums honoring veterans that are located in your community and taking your kiddos on a mini field trip.

These are just two of the great activity suggestions you'll find at Kids Activities Blog! Be sure to visit for other fantastic ideas for making Veterans Day memorable for your students!
