Alphabet Fun: Apples and the Letter A
By Kayla • April 3, 2018
Today is Johnny Appleseed Day and to compliment the awesome printables we featured yesterday, we found these fabulous activities from Erin at Love My Life x4! Be sure to head over there for the download! In the meantime, here's a look at our favorite activities!
Apple Tree Letter Matching {Pictured above left}
Help your preschoolers strengthen letter recognition with Erin's fun upper and lower case letter matching activity mat. [Extension: To build visual discrimination skills, consider creating your own tree mat and apple letter cards using different fonts. Your preschoolers will not always encounter letters in "Arial" and should learn to recognize them despite font.]
Apple Tree Counting {Pictured above right}
Students are sure to strengthen numeral recognition and counting skills with Erin's fun math matching exercise! Invite your kiddos to set out the tree cards, working through them one at a time - counting the number of apples on the tree, then identifying and matching the correct numeral card.
Don't forget to visit Love My Life x4 for these and other great apple activities!
