President's Day Emergent Readers

Jo Kramer, creator of the site and resources on Making Learning Fun, has designed several emergent reader printables to help your preschoolers learn about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln on President's Day this Monday! Doubling as coloring pages, each booklet page provides fun and interesting facts about each of the former presidents - what number they were, where they grew up, the monuments that have been built in their honor, etc. As your students complete the pages, you might consider giving your students a virtual tour {through photos and videos} of the places they're reading about - the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, Mount Rushmore, George Washington's home in Mt. Vernon, and Abraham Lincoln's home in Kentucky. We found some great links for you to check out:
