Here's another great counting activity to keep your kids busy indoors when the weather turns bad or to get them in the Christmas spirit! This activity is great for helping your kids learn number recognition and counting skills. It also helps with fine motor and scissor skills as well!
This printable counting activity is available in both color and black and white. The color version can be printed out and laminated for use over and over again. The black and white version is great too because it can double as a coloring/art activity.
Print all of the Christmas trees and laminate them. This will help them last through the years. Use the colored ornament pages provided to print and cut out, or you can also provide your students with stickers, erasers, pom poms, etc. to be used as the ornaments. Then, have your children identify the number on each tree counting mat and count out the appropriate number of ornaments to place on each tree.
Print out a copy of each of the numbered Christmas tree pages and handout to your children along with multiple copies of the black and white ornament pages. Have your kids color and decorate the ornaments any way they choose and then cut them out. They can color the Christmas trees too! Next, have them identify the number on each tree counting mat and count out the appropriate number of ornaments to place on each tree. You can take a page from each student when completed and hang up around the classroom or send home to decorate around the house!
My students love it
