Olympics Themed Character Bulletin Board Idea

Here's another great motivational bulletin board created by counselor and character coach, Barbara Gruener, over at The Corner On Character. While it's perfect for any time of year, the beginning of the school year is a great time to remind students that character counts! {And, of course, the Olympic theme is super relevant and fun both as a current event and a jumping off point for a discussion on character!}

Character Always Wins

  • Background: Royal blue bulletin board paper.
  • Title: Character Always Wins!
  • Border: Diversity or kid themed trimmer.
  • Decoration: Purchase or create kid cutouts (e.g. find clip art images online to enlarge and print), adding jerseys and gold medals to each character to complete the Olympic theme. Add simple computer generated posters, bordered with colored construction paper, of important character traits/values under each cutout. We love how Barbara used her school's six core values and created an interactive board by adding response questions to facilitate conversation. [Be sure to visit Barbara's guest post over at the National Center for Youth Issues for the details.]
