These Independence day themed calendar connections cards, created by the talented Carisa over at 1+1+1=1, are a great find and are sure to compliment your holiday learning plans! Full of great information on the people, places, symbols, etc. important to our Nation's history, we love that the facts are short and easy to digest, making them appropriate for a wide range of age groups, and that they offer a broader connection to the history behind the holiday. Learning one fact a day (i.e. where they got the name 'calendar connections'!), your students will soon be experts on the history behind this important celebration!
To go along with the calendar connection cards, Carisa also created some fun FREE 4th of July printables! For the younger set, we think the roll and graph math activity and the color by number flag would make excellent supplemental activities!
