May 28th is Memorial Day and, if you're looking to add a patriotic theme to your centers, here's a great math idea from The Preschool Toolbox Blog! Help your kiddos practice sequencing/patterning with star patterns!

With the free download over at TPTB, students are invited to identify the pattern in each row and color the last star the appropriate color. We think this is a great warm-up exercise and as an extension, suggest providing your preschoolers with foil star stickers in red, white, and blue, as well as a simple patterning worksheet (like the one below), inviting them to practice creating their own patterns.
