Presidents' Day Coin Sort & Graph Activity
By Kayla • April 3, 2018

Next Monday is President's Day - a day set aside to recognize and celebrate the leaders of our country, past and present! Since coins offer a great opportunity to introduce several of our most influential leaders - George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Franklin D. Roosevelt - we thought this coin sort and graph math activity would make a great addition to your holiday lesson plans!
The activity is as simple as it sounds. Provided with coin maniulatives - paper, plastic, or otherwise - invite students to sort the coins by type/value on the sorting mat, then count and record the number of each on their graphing worksheet.
You can download the free activity sheets (found above or below) so all you'll need to do is round up some coin manipulatives!
