Preschool is a "Blast"! - Patriotic Bulletin Board Idea
By Kayla • April 3, 2018
Can you believe that June is almost over? As July approaches, we couldn't help thinking it might be nice to feature a few patriotic bulletin boards that would work nicely for summer programs (and the fourth of July!), as well as other patriotic holidays throughout the school year.
Check out this super fun bulletin board from Guylaine of Guylaine's Playhouse Day Care! We just love the three-dimensional elements, the reflective nature of the star garlands and glittered accents that are sure to draw attention to the board, and the cutesy title that ties it all together!
Preschool is a "Blast"!
- Background: Use bulletin board paper to make an American flag! Cover the entire board with white background paper, cutting seven strips of red bulletin board paper to add to the background in order to create the stripes. To finish off the flag background, cut a medium-sized royal blue rectangle for the upper left corner of the board and add fifty white star stickers or cutouts.
- Title: "Preschool is a 'Blast'!"
- Border: Patriotic bulletin board border.
- Decoration: 1) The Firecracker. Use a recycled gift wrap tube to create the handle/wand, covering the tube with blue and red paper or using craft paint to paint a design on the cardboard. Glitter star stickers work great for adding detail to the tube. Use shiny patriotic star garland in red, blue, and silver to create the 'exploding firecracker'. Guylaine created a colorful spark for each of her kiddos, adding a star cutout to the end of each spark featuring their glittered initial. [NOTE: She also cut the stars from shiny paper for added effect!] 2) The Detailing. While the firecracker is the main element, we love the little extras added to the board - the glittered fireworks shapes/starbursts, the shiny star wreath, and the decorative star accents used to accentuate the word "Blast" in the title!
