Paper plates are inexpensive and super versatile, making them a great addition to your craft supply closet! We have a great selection of paper plate crafts for you and your kiddos to work on together. Here's another fun variation on a paper plate sun...

Materials

yellow and orange craft paint

squares of yellow and orange craft tissue paper

strips of yellow construction paper

Crafting the Paper Plate Sun

  1. Begin by painting the plate with the yellow and orange craft paint.
  2. With the paint still wet, collage the pieces of yellow and orange tissue paper onto the wet surface. (Students can scrunch the pieces if they desire.)
  3. Finally, use glue to attach the strips of yellow construction paper to the outside edge of the plate - creating rays.

Here's another look at the finished product!
