By Kayla • April 3, 2018

Provide your kiddos with some counting and number practice using this fun Christmas themed math center idea! Requring only a few things to put together - things that you likely already have on hand! - this is a great option if you need a quick, minimal prep activity to fill some time!
Activity Preparation...
- Download the free activity printables.
- Print the activity pieces onto construction paper of assorted colors, cut out, and laminate to reduce wear and tear. [There are thirteen cutouts total; students will work with numerals 0 through 12.]
- Print the recording sheet onto regular copy/printer paper; one for each student.
To complete the activity...

Provided with the activity pieces, crayons, and a recording sheet, invite students to select a cutout and identify the number of presents on the bag, then record their findings by coloring a bag on their recording sheet to match the selected cutout and writing the number of presents counted on the line beneath the colored image. Have students repeat the process until they've worked through all thirteen bag cutouts.
[NOTE: While the original activity pieces feature simple black and white presents, you could spice up the activity by printing a simple bag shape onto the construction paper, then adding colorful present stickers or foam cutouts!]
