Designing A Fantastic Weather Board Part 1 - Poster Printables

By Kayla • April 3, 2018

Thought we'd throw together some posters to compliment the weather bulletin board we featured yesterday, just in case you wanted to re-create the design ~ without the hassle of creating the elements by hand! Although, you can do that, of course, using these posters as a guide {since we weren't able to get a real clear picture of Dana's design!}. Here are the first three - we promise that more will follow!

Type of Fronts

As they give their weather report for the day, have students designate the type of front being experienced in the region and, using the poster as a guide, use dry erase markers on the "Weather Watch Map" to draw the appropriate front and pressure systems across the country. {11" x 17" poster; best printed onto white paper and laminated}

Who Is The Most Accurate?

When laminated, this colorful chart can be used again and again. Simply use a dry erase marker to pen in the weather sources your kiddos are to use to collect information, fill-in the dates at the top, and then, after comparing the forecasted weather to the actual conditions, place a check mark next to the most accurate source. {11" x 17" poster; best printed onto white paper and laminated}

Today's Moon

Have your mini meteorologists report the current phase of the moon using this printable poster. Simply laminate the base, moon phase cards, and moon phase labels {storing the cards and labels in a nearby envelope}, then have your kiddos select and mount the proper cards/labels to the poster with sticky tack. {10" x 10" poster; can be printed onto any color paper; best laminated}

You might also consider simply mounting a laminated moon cutout to the poster and having students use dry erase markers to draw and pen in the appropriate phase.
