Do you remember the homemade coffee can stilts you used as a kid? Well Joel over at Made by Joel featured a great variation using 2x4 wood instead. Your kiddos are sure to have a blast on these!

All you'll need to create your very own stilts is a strong rope cut into sections and a piece of 2x4 wood, also cut into small sections. Drill a hole through the middle of each piece of wood and thread a piece of rope through.

Finish off the stilts by tying a knot in the top of each rope to create a loop.

Be sure to create enough sets for several children to play at one time. Then turn them loose! Once they master the art or walking on stilts, it may be fun to try making them a bit taller with a thicker piece of wood. A great way to practice gross motor skills!
