Here's a fabulous activity to use in a back-to-school, Johnny Appleseed Day, or harvest themed math center. It was created by Amanda at Handprint and Footprint Art - we found the activity via Daphne at Frogs, Bees, & Under the Seas - and we think it's perfect for your preschoolers!

The worksheet contains ten boxes, each with a different numeral. Invite students to identify the number then, armed with a red stamp pad or a shallow dish of red craft paint, count and create the appropriate amount of apples in the box. {After the ink/paint dries, students can then use a black pen or marker to draw the stem.}

[NOTE: To provide your kiddos with more of a challenge, consider cutting the boxes apart so that you can mix up the numerals.]

Head on over to Handprint and Footprint Art for the worksheet download!
