Thanksgiving Turkey Craft for Kids

If you need a last minute Thanksgiving craft, check out this 3D paper bag turkey from Parents.com! It's a great writing prompt - having your kiddos write out several things they are thankful for - and makes an adorable decoration for your classroom party! It also makes a great catch-all that students can use to take their party favors, crafts, etc. home!

Supplies You'll Need

Start by cutting the card stock into 1/2-inch strips and create a "Thankful Station" where your kiddos can come up - after brainstorming a list of five or more things they're thankful for - and use the permanent markers to script their notes of gratitude onto the colorful strips. Back at their seats, help them assemble the turkey head {you'll find a complete tutorial at Parents.com} and glue it to the front of their bag. If using these cute 3D turkeys as a take-home/treat bag, set the bag and "feathers of thanks" aside till the end of the day. Then, once they've filled their turkeys, fold over the top and staple the feathers on! Otherwise, add the feathers right away and set aside to dry!
