Check out this cute shark craft that was featured over at Almost Unschoolers! It would be a perfect addition to accompany a trip to the aquarium, or to go along with a story. A few recommendations: Don't Eat the Teacher by Nick Ward, What if the Shark Wears Tennis Shoes? by Winifred Morris, or try out Never Take a Shark to the Dentist by Judi Barrett!

Materials Needed:

Blue and White construction paper

Paper plate

Wiggle eyes

Scissors

Glue

Crayons

Begin the shark by cutting small triangles around the perimeter of the paper plate.

Then fold all of the triangles inward toward the center.

Next, color the outside of the paper plate blue to match the construction paper body. (It may be easier to color before folding the triangles inward, but these are the steps as they were originally given).

Finally, attach the created mouth and wiggle eyes to a shark shape and voila! Your cute shark is finished. If you're so inclined, you could add a fish or two to the shark's mouth for a quick snack as pictured above (but for youngers kiddos, you may want to skip that part...).
