Valentine's Day 'Kiss' Counting Mat
By Kayla • April 3, 2018
"How many kisses does the Valentine bear get?"
We love this adorable chocolate kiss and teddy themed math printable from Musings of Me. Originally, we ran across the activity over at From the Hive and were thrilled to find out that this is just one of the awesome activities Michelle put together for the Valentine's Day holiday!
We've featured this type of counting exercise before, but love the cutesy theme and thought it would be perfect for your holiday centers. Students are given a laminated counting mat, various number cards, and a basket of cards featuring chocolate kisses. To complete the activity, invite your kiddos to select a number card and place it in the designated space on the activity mat. Next, have your students identify the numeral and "feed" the Valentine bear the appropriate number of chocolate kisses.
[NOTE: As an alternative, provide your students with actual Hershey's kisses for a fun dimensional manipulative and a sweet treat after the exercise is over!]
Be sure to visit Musings of Me for this and other fabulous downloads!
