100th Day Gross Motor Game for Preschool and Kindergarten

Can you believe it's already time to think about 100th day?! We've been finding lots of great ideas for your celebration and thought, why wait to share? Here's a fun (and super simple!) gross motor game - with some counting and tallying thrown into the mix - that is sure to delight your kiddos!

Activity preparation...

For the game, you'll need;

  • A bucket
  • A set of bean bags
  • Masking tape
  • A scoring sheet for each student (shown above)

Set up is uber simple! Clear your playing field, then place the bucket at one end and the starting line (a piece of masking tape on the ground) at the other.

To complete the activity...

Each student gets ten chances to toss the bean bag and collect points. On their turn, invite students to stand behind the line and carefully toss the bean bag at the bucket. If they make it, the player retrieves the bean bag from the bucket, hands it off to the next player, then marks 10 tallies on their score sheet and goes to the end of the line to wait for their next turn. If they miss the bucket, the player retrieves the bean bag, hands it off to the next player, and simply waits until their next turn to try again. When all players have had a chance to complete ten tosses, the player who scored nearest to or reaches 100, wins!
