Feet In The Sand - Footprint Beach Themed Summer Bulletin Board Idea
By Kayla • April 3, 2018
Here's a cute ocean themed bulletin board that will have your kiddos pining to stick their feet in the sand {...they may just have to settle for paint!}. Complete with sparkly sea cutouts and sensory craft, this design will fit swimmingly into any early childhood classroom!
Feet in the Sand Kids Craft
Supplies You'll Need
- Yellow construction paper
- Brown craft paint
- Craft glue
- Sand
The process is simple; using a paint brush, invite students to coat their bare feet with brown craft paint and carefully {holding onto a desk or fellow student for support} step onto a piece of yellow construction paper to create foot prints. For safety, recommend creating one foot print at a time and consider assigning partners so that each student will have help standing, placing their foot over the paper, etc.
When dry, pour craft glue into shallow dishes and invite students to use paint brushes to add a thin layer of glue to the exposed construction paper. While wet, provide them with sand to sprinkle over the glue, then set aside to dry. [NOTE: You might consider providing "sand stations", filling medium sized tubs with sand, and having students press their paper directly into it. This will keep the mess contained and provide heavier sand coverage.]
