Summer Olympics - Creating Olympians!
By Kayla • April 3, 2018
How great are these little Olympians created by Amy of Step into Second Grade?! They got us to thinking that, with the Summer Olympic Games right around the corner, it might be fun to have your kiddos do a self-portrait - creating themselves as a participant in the Olympics!
Supplies You'll Need
- Multi-cultural Wonderfoam face masks
- Construction paper in assorted colors
- Scissors
- Craft glue
- Markers in assorted colors
Take time to check out the opening ceremony uniforms as well as those uniforms worn by the athletes of each sport. Supplies in hand, here are a few suggestions for approaching the craft: 1) invite your kiddos to pick an Olympian they'd most like to be like, and re-create their uniform, or 2) have each child design their own uniform for the United States. These self-portraits are sure to be fun, providing festive decorations for the classroom/house!
