MLK Day Activity - I Have A Dreamcatcher...
Lauren, second grade teacher and blogger at Notes from Miss Dennis, shared this MLK Day activity and we thought it offered a nice twist to traditional lessons. Incorporating the Native American Legend of the Dreamcatcher, Lauren and her students encountered the concepts of good dreams and bad dreams. With these ideas fresh in their mind, they then read David A. Adler's A Picture Book of Martin Luther King, Jr. and listened for words/concepts that might qualify as good or bad dreams. Lauren and her kiddos rounded out the lesson by creating their own dreamcatchers! Isn't this a fun and unique way to present the important ideals connected with MLK Day?!
