We love this fun writing and literacy exercise from Jessica of Under the Alphabet Tree and think your kiddos will enjoy it too! The most amazing part {especially since you're busy trying to get back into the swing of the things}, she provides a free activity download so all you have to do is print, cut, and set up! Here's how it works...

  • Print and cut out the colorful winter images, placing them around the classroom. [NOTE: You might consider laminating all the pieces in the event you decide to use this activity in future years!]
  • Armed with the recording sheet and a pencil, invite your kiddos to walk around the room, count the number of each item, and record the results {finish the sentence on the recording sheet}.

This is a fabulous way to review number and color words, as well as practice ever-important writing skills!

Be sure to head on over to Under the Alphabet Tree for this great activity download!!
