Alison over at Oopsey Daisy created this fun United States unit that we thought might be a great compliment to your Memorial Day lessons. With lots of games and activities, art project ideas, science explorations, snacks and more, we know you'll be able to find something your kiddos will enjoy! Our favorite activities...

American Symbols Flash Cards

Great as an introduction to the important symbols of our country, you might consider creating extension cards to include important monuments and memorials to help introduce the meaning behind Memorial Day.

Patriotic Action Cards

Your students will be happy to leave their seats and are certain to have a blast pretending to wave like a flag, march like a soldier, fly like an eagle, etc. Once you've worked through the cards, create your own or have your students suggest patriotic actions for the class to try!

For this fantastic, comprehensive United States Unit {complete with FREE printable activities}, be sure to visit Oopsey Daisy!
