Hygloss Products Craft Sand: Bucket O' Sand, 6 Assorted Colors

Students, young and old, love working with sand for its singular nature and feel. For younger kids, you can teach number and letter formation using this fun tactile learning tool. Here's an example of wonderful craft sand in action. Take a piece of colored paper and write a number four on it with glue. Have children sprinkle colored craft sand along the glue lines until the four becomes clearly defined. Allow the project to dry, and then let children run their fingers over the rough sand-covered four to get a tactile grasp of the shape of the number. Learning and comprehension are achieved at a much greater rate when we introduce various learning methods, especially hands on tangible activities.

Help kids grasp concepts faster and better using craft sand as your guide. Make stunning designs and patterns using our colored craft sand and any clear container. It can be a soda bottle, plastic jar that the label will come off of easily, baby bottles or anything you like. The beauty lies in the colored craft sand making gorgeous swirls and dips and ridges behind the clear wall of the container. The older the group, the more complex you can make the patterns. Better yet, why not let students design sand crafts of their own. With such unique qualities and strengths, craft sand is sure to be used over and over again in your classroom and home.
