In honor of Johnny Appleseed Day, consider adding these adorable printables from Erica at Confessions of a Homeschoolerto your lesson plan! Through eleven different activities {eight of them available for download!}, your kiddos will learn/strengthen various skills...

  • Counting
  • Gross motor
  • Handwriting
  • Fine motor
  • Letter recognition
  • Shape recognition
  • Sequencing
  • Visual discrimination
  • Patterning
  • Matching

Our favorite activity - the apple shape puzzles {shown above}! Students will build visual discrimination skills as well as shape recognition as they work to assemble the six 2-piece apple puzzles. For a fun twist, you might consider providing each of your students with the puzzles and have them race to put them together. The first student to assemble all of the apples correctly - wins!

Make sure you visit Confessions of a Homeschooler for these awesome downloads!
